Foothill Pregnancy Center depends on the loving and committed services of volunteers. We will consider any gift or talent that you may have to enhance the work at FPC. We are open to expanding our services as the needs arise. Thanks for your consideration and for being an answer to prayer. Below are some of the areas where you could serve. Contact us for other opportunities as well.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The board is the spiritual covering of FPC and is directly responsible for the spiritual and financial well-being of the ministry. They oversee the executive director and focus on the direction, plans and expansions of the work.

COMMITMENT: Attendance at monthly board meetings, participation in special fundraising events, and membership on a committee of the board in one of the following areas: community relations, fundraising, nominating, or facilities.

PREGNANCY SUPPORT VOLUNTEERS
Reaching out to women with the compassion of Christ by offering practical assistance in both word and deed as a one-on-one caring helper. Pregnancy support volunteers listen, educate, intervene with communications skills, and provide a source of physical, spiritual and emotional hope to the women/families that seek our free services.

COMMITMENT: Attend initial volunteer and in-house training and work a schedule of 2-4 hours per week in the center.

RECEPTIONIST
Greet and check in clients and answer calls that come in to the center during business hours. The receptionist provides smooth office operations by making appointments, filing, making copies, and assisting with other light clerical work.

COMMITMENT: On-the-job training; read through the Policy and Procedures Manual; work a schedule of 2-4 hours per week.

H.E.A.R.T.
(Healing the Effects of Abortion Related Trauma). Helping women through a healing process in the aftermath of abortion. Leading, co-leading, or observing a Bible study. The leader facilitates the group, and the co-leader will follow up on attendees with calls during the week to touch bases.

COMMITMENT: Attend volunteer training seminar, attend a H.E.A.R.T. training conducted by the coordinator to co-lead a group, lead a group, and be accountable to the H.E.A.R.T. coordinator.

COMPUTER
Assisting with data entry, desktop publishing, graphics layout and design of FPC materials and other special projects assigned.

COMMITMENT: Will vary depending on projects and number of other volunteers.

FUNDRAISING
Assisting in the detail work of the annual fundraising events of the ministry. Helping with the planning and coordination of the Walk for Life, Banquet, or the Baby Bottle Bank Fundraiser.
PRAYER WARRIOR
Praying for specific clients, staff, and volunteer ministry needs as they arise. Prayer warriors lend themselves in a number of ways to keep the Center before the Lord. This may mean requesting and praying for items on the monthly prayer calendar, becoming a prayer partner for FPC volunteers or staff members, and being contacted with emergency requests when a strongly abortion-minded client comes in.
CHURCH LIAISON
Representing the ministry to your local church body for special events, promiting Center happenings, asking for prayer and sharing the needs/concerns of your church with the Center staff. Liaisons provide the contact to the church for the annual Walk for Life, Banquet, and Sanctity of Life Sunday.

COMMITMENT: Attending quarterly meetings, speak in your own church, getting information to the proper personnel for announcements, posting of FPC matters in church bulletins, hanging posters, being a voice and PR person for FPC in your sphere of influence.

RESOURCE ROOM
Organizing, sorting and straightening the material items donated for use by our clients or their children. Specifically helping with hanging clothes in their assigned locations in the resource room. May also include sorting, mending, and/or laundering clothes. Also assisting clients in picking out items they can use.

COMMITMENT: Will vary depending upon staffing of the room and the amount of items that need sorting. Typically, a volunteer works 2-4 hours per week.

HELPLINE WORKER
Providing a point of contact for clients when the office is closed, by answering forwarded calls. The volunteer makes appointments, takes messages, and/or redirects an occasional crisis call.

COMMITMENT: Attend the initial four-hour training session or the volunteer training seminar; attend annual helpline meetings. Working one night a week.
